Why So Few Strategy Games Feel Right on Phones
There's a specific frustration unique to mobile strategy: you go to select one unit and grab three, or tap a tile and the camera lurches. Most of these games were designed for a mouse and bolted onto touch afterward.
Ironline Command is one of the rare ones that started from the touchscreen outward. Units are big, selection is forgiving, and the pacing gives you room to think instead of scramble.
The lesson for developers seems obvious but keeps getting missed: don't shrink a desktop interface, rebuild it. A finger is not a cursor, and strategy games feel it more than any other genre.
If you've bounced off mobile strategy before, I'd say give the touch-first ones another shot. The difference is night and day.
